PGDM 2022-24 Commencement Ceremony

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, conducted the Commencement Ceremony to welcome its 7^th cohort of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) on 18^th July, 2022. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guests Mr. Ashish Bhalla, Associate Director, HR - HCL Technologies and Mr. Rakesh Makkar, CEO - Bajaj Auto Consumer Finance Ltd.

The event commenced with a welcome message by Dr. VP Singh, Director - PGDM. He congratulated the students for making it to the Great Lakes family and invigorated them by bringing out the spirit that Uncle Bala invoked.

This was followed by an address from the Director, Dr. Debasish Sanyal. He congratulated the students for their well-deserved candidature and expressed immense pride about the recent Association of Indian Universities (AIU) accreditation and 52nd NIRF ranking received by the institute. Dr. Sanyal also emphasized on the importance of resilience and optimism in one’s life.

Following the Great Lakes tradition of naming the batches after warriors and leaders, Dr. Sanyal revealed the batch name for the class of 2024 - the Archers.

The ongoing momentum was further powered by engaging sessions by Mr. Ashish Bhalla and Mr. Rakesh Makkar.

Mr. Ashish Bhalla established a connection with the students and brought out the significance of developing functional as well as behavioral competencies. He spoke to the students about the importance of management knowledge and what it takes to become a manager.

Mr. Makkar addressed the students virtually and spoke about his own journey. By talking about the constantly evolving VUCA world that we live in, he motivated the students to be hardworking and to be dedicated in their pursuit of knowledge and success. He also emphasized the importance of not just learning but also unlearning, to be able to think differently.

The event was concluded by a vote of thanks by Dr. Kirti Sharma, Associate Professor - Finance & Accounting. This marked the end of an energetic and inspiring commencement ceremony for the incoming students.
