Great Lakes Gurgaon conducts ATAL FDP sponsored by AICTE
Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, was selected to conduct the AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy Faculty Development Program (FDP) from 16th to 21st September, 2024. The program was conducted in line with the theme 'Transformative Technologies for Sustainable & Circular Production & Consumption for Viskit Bharat'. The inaugural day ceremony and sessions were graced by Prof. Jitender Madaan, Professor – Operations & Supply Chain Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Prof. Sachin Mangla Kumar, Director - Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) and Prof. Vivek Agrawal, Professor – Data Science, GLA University.
The program featured theoretical & hands-on sessions, article discussions and industrial visits facilitated by Great Lakes Gurgaon faculty and renowned guests from the industry & academia.
Objectives of the FDP
- Enhance Domain Knowledge and Skill Sets: Equip participants with comprehensive knowledge of sustainability, circular economy, and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12, enabling them to apply these concepts in real-world scenarios with industry connections.
- Develop Sustainability and Circularity Measurement Skills: Develop participants' skills in measuring sustainability and circularity through life cycle assessment, carbon credit calculations, and other relevant methods, enabling them to evaluate and enhance circular economy practices.
- Promote National Development with SDG 12 Focus: Facilitate understanding of the role of contemporary circular and digital economies in transforming traditional linear systems into circular and sustainable business models.
- Improve Teaching-Learning Effectiveness: Enhance participants' ability to effectively communicate complex knowledge and skill sets related to sustainability and circular economy, thereby improving teaching-learning outcomes. Provide hands-on learning on circularity assessment, closed-loop supply chain design, circular business models, XR/VR technology use cases for sustainability, etc.
- Decision-Support Methods Implementation: Demonstrate the use of methods and decision-support tools that aid the implementation process by analyzing the systemic dependencies and relationships among various crucial elements of the circular economy.
Additional Components of the FDP
- An industrial visit to the manufacturing industry in Bhiwadi/Manesar Area
- Exposure to Simulation Labs, XR/VR Lab of the institute, Research Methodology, Training Sessions on Recent Software
- Guest Sessions by Industry experts and journal Editors for Publishing the Research in International Journals
