Live Projects

In today’s times, practical or applied learning is of utmost importance for the budding management graduates. We at create this opportunity by way of a tripartite system in which students, corporate mentors and faculty guides work together on projects based on analyzing a current business problem, conducting market research for a new product or benchmarking current organization practices. The students are allowed work in a team size of 1 to 5. This brings together an additional platform for students, giving them pioneer knowledge along with a skillset towards developing a management oriented thought process.

Project Nature

The project given to the students of Great Lakes Institute of Management should be of material importance to the company and should have ample scope for learning. The project could be based on analyzing a current business problem, or conducting market research for a new product or benchmarking current organization practices to the best in the industry.

Selection Process

The selection process could involve written tests or one-on-one interviews. The CCS can aid the company in this process. Alternatively, company representatives can conduct the entire selection process by themselves. All required support will be provided by the CCS of Great Lakes.

Team Size

The company can choose as many students as required for the project. Team sizes for past industry projects have ranged between 1 and 5.

Brief By Company

The company should brief the selected students about the task at hand and give them broad guidelines on how to execute the task

Project Plan by Students

The students will come up with a project plan citing their plan of action and stating definite strategies and deadlines.

Students will be able to spare a maximum of one day a week to travel to Chennai city for the project work. The rest of the work will be done on campus. For market research projects students will conduct focus groups, one-on-one in depth interviews and compile the qualitative research. After that they will conduct quantitative research.

Students will be responsible for research design formulation, the data collection process, data analysis and solution formation. They may take the help of faculty members as deemed fit by them.

Reimbursements All expenses (travel if any) incurred by students while doing project should be reimbursed by the company in a timely fashion.

Stipend The monthly stipend offered for the project should be mentioned to the students (either individual or Team) before they sign up for the project. In the past, corporates extended such projects with a stipend ranging between 30K and 75K per month, depending on the size of the project.

Certificate/PPO/PPI

After successful completion of the project, corporate provide a certificate to the students. They also make Pre Placement Offer/Pre Placement Interview letter etc.
