Grand Master Pravin Thipsay on Great Lakes, Chennai campus
We are delighted to welcome our first mega speaker of the academic year on Thursday, 4th August - Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay.
Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay was the first Indian to get a chess Grandmaster norm from FIDE and the first Indian to win the Commonwealth Chess Championship. He is presently in Chennai leading the Indian contingent of 5 teams at the Chess Olympiad. He has won the national chess championship 7 times and played for India in 7 world chess olympiads. In 1984 he was conferred with the highest sports honour from the Govt. of India - The Arjuna Award.
We are fortunate to have him on campus for a special interaction with students, alumni on the topic, 'Managerial Learnings from the Game of Chess'.
