Satheesh Krishnamurthy is an M.B.A of Temple University, Philadelphia, with full scholarship, following my M.Com from the University of Madras. At Temple, he was Research Assistant in the Marketing Department assisting faculty in research work and teaching under-grad students marketing courses.
Post his MBA, he worked at the Institute of Survey Research, a leading social research organization in the U.S, in their Data Reduction Department for close to two years before returning to India at the end of 1993.
Presently he is a Brand Consultant, offering Strategic Marketing, Branding and Communication advice to small and medium-sized firms across Tamil Nadu. His clients range from leading brands in retail to real estate, FMCG to Foods and Exports to Energy companies.
Till recently he served, albeit briefly, as the Head of Marketing of Javagreen, a Reliance Venture. Earlier he headed, for two years, Marketing and Business Development in Wisden CricInfo India (P) Ltd., the world’s largest cricket digital information company.
Prior to that, for five years he served McCann Erickson handling its prestigious multinational account, before heading its newly formed Strategic Planning Cell. He managed all the brands handled by McCann, apart from leading its New Business Initiatives. He was also the regional coordinator for the agency’s market research initiative – Pulse – a proprietary tool of McCann Erickson.
At Cavinkare, where he started my professional career as Brand Manager in 1994, he took its flagship brand to national identity and helped modernize its image in tune with the times.
He conducts marketing workshops in B-Schools, companies, banks and business associations.
