“Digital Innovations Reforming Business Strategies”, the theme around which the gamut of Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai’s Digital Symposium 2019 revolved. The event was a culmination of efforts by Team CCS and Team PlaceComm. This grand event brought together CXOs, Founders, Management leaders from world-class companies such as Landmark Group, Schindler, BCG, Caprihans, Ujjivan Bank, Zydus Cadila, Swiggy, JLL etc. to name a few.
These Multinationals, spanning across various business verticals came together on one single platform, i.e. Digital Symposium, to showcase how digital technologies are transforming the businesses across the world. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the MBA aspirants as this event provided them with a chance to interact and learn from over 20 successful leaders, all under one roof.
One of the cynosures of the occasion was a Humanoid Robot, Nao, from Vero Robotics which strengthened the notion of gradual digitisation in the future. The presence of the robotic figure was in lieu with the motto of the event, “Think Digital, Go Global”
In regard to the pivotal theme, students were subjected to case studies and innovative competitions that compelled them to think from a digital perspective. DigiPitch-Digital Ideathon, Digifi, Boardroom contest, were some of the competitions curated for the students of Great Lakes. Students were evaluated on differentiated parameters and the best performers were recognised by the CXOs themselves during the mega event.
To achieve optimum utilisation from the key speakers, the students and the guests were segmented into various SME sessions where the business leaders talked about the correlation between technology and their own business.
The SME sessions had speakers from various industrial backgrounds such as Fintech, Digital Marketing, Retail Management, Banking Automation, Life Science etc. The dignitaries also illustrated about current job opportunities & career aspects available in the business world but most importantly, they emphasized on the competencies which are required in an individual to fit right in this digital world.
Post an enlightening session, a cultural event along with an electrifying DJ Night were organised for the students where they showcased their talents.
This event gained huge media attention as several media houses such as The Hindu and Economic Times, magazines like Career 360, online media partners like Business Line on campus by The Hindu, Cinema Plus covered the entire event and added further to the Symposium’s success.
