Curriculum

The curriculum at Great Lakes IEMR attends not only to a student’s intellectual growth but also to his/her development as an individual committed to high ethical standards, leadership and life-long learning.

During the first year, students are immersed in the core curriculum. The core courses provide a firm foundation in economics, statistics, accounting, finance, marketing, operations, business computing skills and strategy. Complementary courses on communication, leadership, ethics, public speaking, presentation, and teamwork help develop soft skills. The course curriculum for the second year is designed to extend functional skills and analytical thinking in the area of a student’s specialization.

Apart from regular classroom teaching, students will undertake a Conscientious Leadership Development Program (CLDP) at Great Lakes IEMR that is designed to develop leadership skills and attitude via non-traditional and novel formats. The CLDP is organized to reflect the stages of a student’s development as he or she progresses through the program. The first phase o f the CLDP, conducted during the first year, focuses on leadership, excellence and ethics. The second phase involves a set of experiential activities that build upon the leadership themes developed during the first year at Great Lakes IEMR. The Conscientious Leadership Program forms one of the most exciting and innovative components of Great Lakes IEMR’s curriculum.

The learning at Great Lakes IEMR goes well beyond the academic curricullum with constant interaction with the Industry leaders resulting in gaining practical insights in to the industry. The Lecture series include the Industry Thought Leaders Series, Career Role Model Series, Entrepreneurship Series and the Leaderships Development Program discussed above.
